Clinical Governance
Clinical Oversight Model
Medidoc operates under a structured clinical governance framework designed to ensure every patient receives safe, effective, and high-quality telehealth care. Our clinical oversight model includes regular peer review, clinical auditing, and ongoing professional development for all practitioners on our platform. Each consultation is guided by evidence-based clinical protocols that align with Australian best practice standards.
AHPRA Registration
All doctors on the Medidoc platform are registered with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) and hold current medical registration. Our practitioners are qualified doctors who meet the requirements of the Medical Board of Australia. We verify the registration status of every doctor before they join our platform and conduct regular checks to ensure ongoing compliance.
Evidence-Based Practice
Medidoc is committed to evidence-based medicine. Our clinical protocols and prescribing guidelines are developed in accordance with the latest peer-reviewed research and national clinical guidelines. We regularly review and update our clinical pathways to reflect changes in medical evidence and regulatory requirements.
Clinical Review Process
Our clinical review process ensures quality and consistency across all consultations. This includes regular auditing of consultation records, prescribing patterns, and patient outcomes. Feedback from patients and practitioners is incorporated into continuous quality improvement initiatives. Any adverse events or clinical incidents are investigated promptly and used to improve our processes.
Guidelines and Standards
Medidoc adheres to guidelines and standards set by the following bodies:
- Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (RACGP) - Standards for general practices and telehealth consultations
- Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA) - Prescribing regulations and medication safety
- Pharmaceutical Benefits Scheme (PBS) - Subsidised medication prescribing criteria
- Medical Board of Australia - Professional standards and codes of conduct
- Australian Digital Health Agency - Digital health interoperability and security standards
Patient Safety
Patient safety is at the centre of everything we do. Our doctors are trained to recognise the limitations of telehealth and will refer patients for in-person care when clinically appropriate. We maintain clear escalation pathways for urgent and emergency situations, and our platform includes safety mechanisms to prevent inappropriate prescribing. Patients are always advised to call 000 in a medical emergency.
Privacy and Confidentiality
Medidoc handles all patient information in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles. Medical records are stored securely and accessible only to authorised personnel involved in the patient's care. Our systems use encryption and access controls to protect patient data. For more details, see our Privacy Policy.
